In short: There is no clear winner. ChatGPT is the most versatile assistant for everyday work, Gemini pays off most for people who work in Google Workspace and Android, and Claude stands out for long texts, documents and analysis with a natural writing style. For business marketing, though, the more important question is often a different one: what do these assistants say about your brand when customers ask?
In just a few years, AI assistants have gone from simple chatbots to tools people use every day for work, learning and decisions. Each of the three big assistants has a different focus. We compared them in everyday marketing work and tested them with the same prompt.
AI assistant or AI agent?
An AI assistant answers questions, summarises texts, creates content and carries out tasks when you ask. It responds to your instruction.
An AI agent goes a step further: it plans, decides and completes several steps on its own, such as researching information, processing data from different sources and preparing the result. All three providers are moving their products in this direction, and the line between assistant and agent is increasingly blurred.
Who is who?
- ChatGPT from OpenAI is the best-known and most widely used assistant, with a broad range of features from writing and images to custom GPTs.
- Gemini from Google is closely tied to Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar and Android, and plays to its strengths where you already work with Google.
- Claude from Anthropic is known especially for long documents, thorough analysis and writing with a natural tone.
Which assistant for what?
| Task | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday tasks, brainstorming, creative work | ChatGPT | very versatile, broad feature set |
| Emails, documents, scheduling in Google | Gemini | direct integration with Google Workspace |
| Long texts, contracts, reports, analysis | Claude | strong with long documents and careful work |
| Writing in your own style | Claude or ChatGPT | both adapt well to examples |
| Coding | all three | all three are suitable for serious development work |
Features and models change very quickly at all three providers, often within weeks. Always check current capabilities on the official websites.
Cost
All three offer free versions with limits, plus paid subscriptions for individuals and teams. Prices vary by country, currency and current offers. For businesses, team and business plans are worth a look because they add data protection and admin features.
Our hands-on test
We gave all three assistants the same prompt: explain simply what the “slow life” lifestyle means, why it appeals to so many people today, and give three practical tips for getting started with little time. The test ran in Slovak, but the differences in style carry over to other languages.
- ChatGPT got straight to the point with clearly structured, practical tips. It read like an easy-to-read blog post: pragmatic, yet empathetic.
- Gemini opened more dramatically, with more metaphors and wordplay. The result felt the most journalistic, like a magazine piece.
- Claude felt the most personal and calm, like advice over coffee. Less stylised, very readable even without many subheadings.
For short, well-structured articles we would choose ChatGPT, for creative magazine-style copy Gemini, and for an empathetic, encouraging tone Claude. Whatever you use, have a person review AI text and add real experience before publishing.
What this means for your marketing
More and more people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude before choosing an agency, a product or a supplier. The assistants then name a handful of providers. Whether your company is among them depends on how findable, clear and trustworthy your content is on the web. Test it yourself: ask all three about your industry and region and check whether and how your brand is mentioned.
Frequently asked questions
Gemini or ChatGPT: which is better?
It depends on how you use it. ChatGPT is the more versatile all-rounder for writing, ideas, analysis and images. Gemini is more practical if most of your work happens in Gmail, Docs, Drive and Android.
Is there a good alternative to ChatGPT?
Yes, mainly Gemini and Claude: Gemini for people in the Google ecosystem, Claude for long texts, documents and analysis.
Can I create my own assistants?
Yes. In ChatGPT they are called GPTs, in Gemini Gems, and in Claude you work with projects and custom instructions. These are customised assistants for specific tasks, not fully autonomous agents.
Can I enter customer data into AI assistants?
Only with care. Check the privacy terms of your plan, use business plans for company data and don’t enter personal data without a legal basis.
Conclusion
The question is less which AI is best and more how you use it. Try the free versions and combine the assistants depending on the task.
